CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak is confident that President Obama will win Minnesota’s electoral vote. He is focusing on the state’s congressional elections and answers Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s criticism of the president.
Transcript is below:
Q: Do you think Minnesota is a solid blue state?
A: It’s a blue state but we always have to work hard. We have to focus on Congressional seats.
Q: Congressman Paul Ryan is from neighboring Wisconsin, does this play a role in the November election?
A: Well Congressman Ryan may advertise Midwestern values but he practices divisive politics. Those are not Wisconsin values.
Q: What are your responses to the Michele Bachmanns of your state who criticize healthcare, the deficit and the President’s job record?
A: Michele Bachmann pays very little attention to reality so I would challenge her to talk to any rational point . Michele Bachmann is more a people person, her anti-immigration stance makes her an anti-American politician. We are dramatically better off now. Michele Bachmann would have us go back to the bad old days of George W. Bush, which got us into this mess in the first place.
