Fenty Beauty Sells Out During Debut Weekend


KENNESAW, Ga. – Pop Icon Rihanna, released her much anticipated makeup line last weekend, and the consumers went nuts. The line debuted during New York Fashion Week.

Rihanna’s makeup line is only retailed at Sephora locations, so the event day, had customers wrapped around the store. Fenty Beauty shelves were wiped clean at the Sephora inside JCPenney’s located at Town Center.

“Her line is universal, and anyone can wear the makeup,” Bryan T. said. Bryan is a beauty advisor with Sephora inside JCPenney’s and has been there for a year and a half. “I’ve never seen a makeup brand sell out as quickly as Fenty Beauty did.”

Hurricane Irma recently hit the greater Atlanta area, causing many trucks filled with shipment to be delayed. UPS handles all of Sephora’s shipment and cancelled deliveries during the tropical storm. According to Bryan, they would’ve never ran out of Fenty Beauty products, if their shipment trucks were on schedule. Now that Hurricane Irma has subsided, Brian thinks that they should be fully stocked with Fenty Beauty by next week.

Fenty Beauty offers a variety of makeup products at every Sephora location, whether it’s free-standing or inside JCPenney’s. The PRO FILT’R liquid foundation leaves the skin with a soft matte finish. The liquid foundation comes in 40 shades, ranging from, the lightest of lights to the deepest of darks. The liquid foundation was a fast seller, and shelves were left bare after the release date.

“We are currently sold out of the deepest shades and the lightest shades,” Bryan said. “Fenty Beauty is 100 percent cruelty-free.”

“I have ‘Trophy Wife’ and the ‘Gloss Bomb’,” said Ayjah Laguardia, a regular shopper who purchased those products over the weekend.

Fenty Beauty offers a few selections of highlighters, and Trophy Wife has been really popular with the younger clientele.

“It’s gold shimmer makes my face pop,” Laguardia said. “And I just love the Gloss Bomb.”

Fenty Beauty offers a universal lip gloss that matches anyone’s skintone. It compliments every shade.

“I’m really impressed by how much effort Rihanna put into making Fenty Beauty,” Bryan said. “It literally compliments anyone!”

Rihanna’s makeup line debuted last week at New York Fashion Week and has been a hit ever since. After showcasing her fashion line, Rihanna revealed that her makeup line was set to hit stores.

“I’m waiting on my shade to get restocked,” Esha Patel said. “Then I’ll buy my PRO FILT’R foundation.”

Patel is a local customer who attended the launch day over the weekend. She also writes makeup reviews for Influenster. She received a kit of some of the new products from Fenty Beauty last week.

“I’ve been able to test out the brushes, rolling papers, and Trophy Wife,” Patel said.

Sephora employees hope to be restocked, to meet their clients’ full needs, when a new shipment arrives next week. Until then, customers can check out Fenty Beauty’s website or Sephora’s website to make a purchase.
